Shelter
Why is the cyber world taken by storm with this animated music video of Shelter? 7.6 Million youtube video views for just a month and few days!
Me, personally, what I loved about it the most is the storyline. The synopsis is as follows:
“Shelter tells the story of Rin, a 17-year-old girl who lives her life inside of a futuristic simulation completely by herself in infinite, beautiful loneliness. Each day, Rin awakens in virtual reality and uses a tablet which controls the simulation to create a new, different, beautiful world for herself. Until one day, everything changes, and Rin comes to learn the true origins behind her life inside a simulation.”
Yes it will leave you with an open ending wherein you can think of so many possible endings or maybe there’s no really end to it. Realistically speaking, I might actually think she’d either find other survivors from this apocalyptic thing that happen on Earth OR she’ll just, I don’t know… Die? I mean, seriously, I don’t think the “shelter” that’s keeping her alive can support her forever.
In addition to that is the really catchy music which is the Shelter by American and French DJs Porter Robinson and Madeon. If you listen to it carefully and read the lyrics as well, it will actually make your eyes shed tears plus the arrangement and the singer’s voice is really beautiful. Reminds me of Owlcity.

*==
I could never find the right way to tell you
have you noticed i’ve been gone?
cause I left behind the home that you made me
but I will carry it along
mm it’s a long way forward
so trust in me
I’ll give them shelter like you’ve done for me
and I know I’m not alone
you’ll be watching over us
until you’re gone
when I’m older I’ll be silent beside you
I know that words are not enough
and they won’t need to know our names or our faces
but they will carry on for us
==*
What’s awesome about it as well is they had it made with one of the best anime production/studio from Japan, the A-1 Pictures, that produced some of the famous anime such as Sword Art Online, Black Butler, Fairy Tail, Your Lie In April and a lot more! Plus in collaboration with Crunchyroll too! How cool is that?
You can watch the behind the scenes interview here presented to you by Crunchyroll: BEHIND THE SCENES OF SHELTER
Digging deep to it, I feel that people who suffers from depression and other types of psychological disorders that makes someone feel lonely and isolated can really relate into this short clip. Being isolated from the world, you may have created your own world where you can control everything. You feel like everything is okay but deep inside you know there’s still something that’s missing. That when you find something that you thought will make you happy and complete, and in the end it’s just not what’s going to fix you. But as time passes by, you will learn that there are other people who feels the same way as you.. “Hitori ja nai..” (“You are not alone..”)
This is what makes you hold on. Memories from the past, the things that broke you are what will make you feel more alive and stronger.
